I have a dilemma...WAY too many scraps! We're talking baskets full! Many of my sewing projects are larger and don't require small scraps. I don't want to waste the bits of fabric I have left over, so I save them and my pile of scraps grows. It's getting a little out of control and unmanageable to say the least.
So, I'm looking into projects that use scraps. Quilting is a great way to use up these bits of fabric.
Moda Bake Shop has some fabulous quilt patterns for F-R-E-E. One that has been catching my eye is this adorable hearts quilt
Or this cool "Chocolate Stars" Quilt. Anything with "chocolate" in the title has my attention ;)
I'd love to see your ideas for scrap busters. Leave a comment with a link to share what you've found!

It is ridiculous here! I have tubs full of fabric. I had 2 gigantic department store bags of scraps that were overflowing. I gave them to a friend who is short on cash and doesn't get to buy much fabric. She makes log cabin quilts from the scraps. I was glad they could still get used. When the quilt tops are done she has all her friends over to help her hand quilt the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteOooh those are lovely. I love quilts, but I usually want to pick out all my fabric at once for them so I don't end up using my scraps. Doll clothes and little purses is my idea for those. That heart quilt is a good one for small bright scraps though with the white tying them all together. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI like to pick out all of my fabric at once for quilts too. I have SOOOO many scraps of cupcake fabric. I'll have to do a cupcake quilt or something soon! Doll clothes are a great idea too!
ReplyDeleteI am gonna tell you something... Those 2 quilts are simply adorable!!!
